I have listed below some the questions that I frequently get asked.  I hope that my answers will help you with your decision in approaching me for counselling.  Should you have any questions that I have not listed, or if you just want to chat through some of my answers, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

HOW LONG WILL I NEED COUNSELLING FOR?

That depends on you.  Some people only need to attend for a short time, ie: 6-8 weeks whilst others prefer longer. You, the client will be in control of how long you attend for.

WHERE WILL I BE SEEN?

I see clients from my own home in Musselburgh. This is easily accesible by car, train or bus.  Parking is free and easily available.  There is a direct bus route to and from Edinburgh or East Lothian very close to my house. A train station is also within walking distance of my house.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

A fee of £40 is paid for a one hour session. This fee is payable at the end of each session.

WHEN CAN I BE SEEN?

I offer appointments during the day and in the evening so hopefully we can find a time that is convenient for you.

WILL I NEED TO WAIT FOR AN APPOINTMENT?

I will try and see you as soon as I can and aim to offer a first appointment within a week of you contacting me.

Everything you bring to counselling will be confidential between us.  I am however required to attend a supervisor once a month.  My supervisors job is to ensure that I am working properly and ethically and ultimately has your best interests at heart.  My supervisor is also bound by strict confidentiality rules.  I work and adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics.
